Dr. Valerie Ward, PhD, is is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering and cross appointed in the Department of Biology at the University of Waterloo. Dr. Ward’s research encompasses the development of novel bioprocessing strategies to support the advancement of the Canadian bioeconomy. Her primary focus is on the biosynthesis and metabolic engineering of isoprenoids in bacteria and microalgae and their extraction and purification.
